Garage Book

Privacy

Plain English. Last updated September 2026.

The short version: we keep what you type in so we can show it back to you. We don’t sell it, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you around the web.

What we keep

Your name, email and a scrambled version of your password (we never see the password itself). The vehicles, services, log entries, photos, receipts and manuals you add. If you pay for Plus, our payment provider (Stripe) keeps your card details — we never see them; we keep only a customer reference and whether you’re paid up.

What we use it for

Running the service for you. Emailing you about your own account (password resets, receipts for payments, and once in a while something important about the service). Nothing else.

Who else sees it

People you add to your garage see that garage. Our hosting provider stores the servers and files. When you use the receipt reader or ask the manual, that receipt picture or those manual pages are sent to Anthropic’s Claude to be read, and the answer comes straight back — they aren’t used to train anything. That’s the whole list.

Cookies

One cookie, to keep you logged in. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies.

Deleting

Delete a vehicle and everything logged against it goes with it, including the files. Delete your account and the whole garage goes. Backups roll off within 30 days.

Where

Servers are in the United States (Railway, US East). The service is run from Ottawa, Canada.
